Interpreting the Parables
Published in Paperback by Intervarsity Press (February, 1990)
Author: Craig L. Blomberg
Average review score:

Excellent.
An excellent overview of Jesus' parables, and a sound scholarly case that they are not - as some modern 'interpreters' would have it - a scattered, out-of-context collection of inaccurately-transmitted topical sayings but a well-preserved body of systematic teaching. Usefully read in conjunction with David Wenham's _The Parables of Jesus_. It is not, by the way, necessary to be a Christian in order to read either of these fine books.

An intense, incisive and inspiring piece of work
This is a must read if you ever want to dig deep into the parables in scripture. Although it may have been written for students in theology, I find the reading to be challenging and fruitful as I get immersed in its intensive analyses and extensive citations from other bible scholars. I consider this one of several classic references in preparation for a Sunday School lecture series on "Parables for the People". After you digest this book slowly, you will be assured that teaching and understanding the parables can be a profound experience in pleasing God.

If you love romance and adventure this is the book for you.
Leprechauns is a wonderful touching book. The characters seem so real, and each word paints a beautiful picture. Mickey and Princess Jessica struggle to rise above their families ideas of the way they should live. Their love is so powerful it makes you stop and realize that love is strong enough to survive any obstacles thrown at you. I recommend this book to anyone who believes in romance, and happy everafter.

Leprechauns
I think that this was the best book that I have ever read! I love the part where The Leprechaun and the Fariy meet. At that time you can just tell that the story will be good and also, mostly about them. You just have to buy this book! My whole family loves it.

Lion House Recipes
Published in Hardcover by Deseret Books (01 May, 1984)
Authors: Helen Thackeray, Craig W. Dimond, Borge B. Andersen, and Lion House
Average review score:

An essential cookbook for Christmas...
I've had this cookbook for the last 15 years. I think my sister gave it to me one year at Christmas. I once ate at the Lion House in SLC for someone's wedding, and it was incredible.

This is an excellent cookbook for those who need to cook for crowds. There were always crowds in Utah...it's kind of self-explanatory. So the women learned to cook in great amounts, but that didn't mean they didn't cook well. I've used many of the beverages, especially the hot ones, for all kinds of get-togethers. Even adolescents appreciate a nice hot cup of apple cider/wassail in the fall after playing football. For those who prefer to find comfort in each other's company, rather than drinking alcohol, this book provides the beverages and the desserts (so many tend to have alcohol at Christmastime) without the problems.

Many of the recipes are simple, good food. A great cookbook for a beginning cook, or for someone who aspires to entertaining well.

Karen Sadler

My favorite cookbook
I have over thirty cookbooks, but this is the one I use the most. It has great recipes for everything from chili to pie, and is so clearly written, that even a novice cook can get good results.

Listening to Music
Published in Paperback by West Publishing Company (April, 1992)
Author: Craig M. Wright
Average review score:

Great text, great author
I took Craig Wright's class at Yale, from which he wrote the text. The listening exercises are great--not too difficult, more just to guide listening--and it really can help guide a musical novice to proficiency.

A concise, thorough guide to music with personal insight.
Craig Wright not only provides us with a nicely packaged history of music, composers, and culture, but also gives us a peak into the personal lives within the societies of these periods. Each chapter contains excellent listening exercises to be used with works on the included CD and there are excellent illustrations and photographs that "bring you back" to each age of music. I recommend it as a general reference source for accomplished musicians, and as a nice guide for all classical music fans.

LOVE TRANCES : How to Hypnotize Men to Love You and Do Your Bidding
Published in Paperback by 1st Books Library (10 April, 2003)
Author: Craig Rovinsky
Average review score:

i love this book
When my best friend told about Love Trances: How to Hypnotize Men to Love you and do your Bidding, I was intrigued. Could it really be possible to use hypnosis on men to make them fall in love with you? I have had so many failed relationships that I was about to give up on love completely. But when she described it to me, I had to order it. Apparently, the author has been a stage hypnotist and palm reader for many years. Since women frequently asked about love, he combined these skills to help many of his clients find love with his hypnotic techniques.

I have only had Love Trances for a short while but I have already used some of the information in it. One of the easiest things he describes is a "three-step hypnotic conversation" outline. My boss wanted a small group of us to have lunch with a visiting businessman. I'm kind of a shy person, so I wasn't too excited about "volunteering" to have lunch with a person I knew nothing about. Using just one of the three trance questions caused him answer that question for an hour. He pretty much bared his entire soul to me. It was so easy! All I did was ask one question! I showed one of my friends the same chapter just before she had to attend a wedding reception. She used a different trance question from the "childhood memories" section to entrance her chosen man for hours. They have been happily dating since then.

I haven't tested everything in the book yet, but believe me, I will! Love Trances is so much better than any of my other relationship books. It's more assertive, more empowering. But it's fun to read too because he's got a lot of really funny stories and entertaining quotes. You absolutely have to give this book a try!

A Woman, the Human Race, and Hypnotism
The mystery of love and life, on one hand, and the will and aim of each gender, on the other, has been explored by many such as Leo Tolstoy, D.H. Lawrence, and Betty Frieden. It is no small matter that the human female, unlike her primate cousins in the family of great apes, does not have a seasonal "heat", but seeks to keep the male interested and near at hand to procreate and raise infant humans.
This social contract between the human genders has evolved over the millenia and pervades our culture with mystery and mystique. The old saw of the man actually being captured by the female, whom he thought he was pursuing, might be instintive truth.
The task thus falls to the individual woman. She is ill prepared, even while growing up with Barbie and Ken dolls, and dreaming of Prince Charming. Should she, like Anna Karenina, have to choose between incomplete males: the rogue or the cold babbit bureaucrat? Or should she focus, in her mind, projecting
hypnotically outwards, on her needs and plans, to gain her proper mate?
Craig Rovinsky, a student of the mind, gender, humans, and humanity, ably provides a roadmap for that focus towards a woman's success in love and aims.

A Masked Ball and Other Stories (Pocket Classics (Stroud, Gloucestershire, England).)
Published in Paperback by Sutton Publishing (October, 1997)
Authors: Alexandre Dumas and A. Craig Bell
Average review score:

Yet another great book by Alexandre Dumas!
"A Masked Ball" contains five short stories, all of which are unique. They range from a tale related by "The Cabriolet Driver" to a heart-breaking story of a Russian duel titled "Marianna". Perhaps the best of the five stories is the one for which the book is titled, "A Masked Ball". At only six pages long, it is an incredibly gripping story. As soon as you finish it, you will want to read it again.

Some people may have heard that Alexandre Dumas had a tendancy to be long-winded with some of his books (The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo, etc.). Those people should be sure to check out "A Masked Ball". They will find out what many of us already know: When it comes to great books, Alexandre Dumas was in a class by himself.

oh, GREAT!
A Masked Ball is a very very short story, but a GREAT story! Right from the second paragraph it got me so interested and caught-up I swore I'll never do anything else before I finish it. Well! It's short, so I finished it in 5 minutes, but I read it again, and again and again for 3 times, THEN I put it down! Dumas definately have his way to capture the reader's attention, even with only 5 pages of story he can make you breath-less, caught-up, and totally amazed! Just try this work and you'll never be disappointed!!!!!!

Mayan Gold: A Jack Riley Adventure
Published in Paperback by Writers Club Press (March, 2002)
Author: Bill Craig
Average review score:

Sexier than ever!
Mayan Gold is Bill Craig's sexiest book yet! The love scenes are so steamy I needed a cold shower after reading them! The action is also well written and the characters intriguing. I can't wait to see what happens to Jack and Moria and Ken and Julie in his next book! Please tell me he's going to write a third one?

An escape to adventure!
Mayan Gold is a great follow up to Bill Craig's fisrt Novel Valley of Death. It expands on the characters of Jack Riley, Moria Clark and Ken Alston and introduces a new continuing character In Dr. Julie Carr. The action is intense and the pace is incredible. It's a great way to escape into an well written and exotic adventure for a few hours to get away from theworries and cares of the world we live in. The Jack Riley novels give us black and white characters where the good guys are good and the bad guys are bad. It's almost a return to a simpler and more well-ordered world. The characters are realistic and fun, the plost is fast paced and exciting. Mayan Gold is a fantastic read and a novel you won't put down until you finish it!
